The green, deeply carved valleys that radiate a deep calm and relaxation are typical of the Ardennes. Detours to beautiful viewpoints such as Uewerschleed and Hockslee near Kautenbach are recommended. Culture lovers can reach the Bourscheid castle – which towers high above the Sauer valley – by train. The opposite viewpoint Grenglee offers the best view of it. The town of Wiltz, also known as the “capital of the Ardennes,” impresses with its castle and its monumental stairway leading to the Wiltz gardens. Since the 1950s, the castle's stairway and façade have served annually as the setting for the renowned European open-air theater and music festival Festival de Wiltz. After leaving Wiltz, continue riding away from road traffic along the Wiltz river through untouched forests and meadows. The route ends at the Belgian border. Those with enough stamina can continue cycling to Bastogne, where there is a connection to the Belgian Ardennes cycling network.

Between the rivers Clerve and Wiltz runs a special adventure trail that is aimed primarily at children and families: the animal trail in Kautenbach. Amidst the beautiful landscapes of Nature Park Our, visitors of all ages discover in a fun way how animals use their senses. Five stations invite them to experience the forest. Each station is dedicated to a sense and is complemented by a metal sculpture of a native animal. The tawny owl stands for hearing, the fox for sight, the wild boar for taste, the woodpecker for touch and the badger for smell. Short texts and illustrations encourage observation and participation. The artistic figures were created by Éislek sculptor Raymond Birgen.

The ‘Bomm’ viewpoint is located above Kautenbach and has a special story to tell. In 1913, the then owner of the railway station, Peusch, had a local association build ‘eng Bomm’ - a spherical structure majestically enthroned on a fir tree. This striking vantage point fell victim to the Germans during both world wars. The ‘Bomm’ has been standing again since 1947 - this time on a sturdy iron structure. Over time, the weather took its toll on the ‘Bomm’ and in the late 1990s it finally had to give way to the elements. But the memory of the ‘Bomm’ lived on in the community. Interestingly, the field name ‘Op der Bomm’ is not recorded in official records, but the locals have long called the place by this name. Perhaps this is due to the hill, which looks like a large hemisphere from Kautenbach and gave the viewpoint its name. In 2014, the Syndicat d'Initiative, in collaboration with the municipality, seized the opportunity to rebuild the ‘Bomm’. Today, a new ‘Bomm’ towers over the landscape and continues the legacy of this symbolic place - a place that preserves the picturesque panorama of Kautenbach unchanged. The ‘Bomm’ can only be reached on foot. Various hikes, e.g. the Éislek Pad Kautenbach and the Escapardenne Lee Trail, lead past it.
