In southern Luxembourg lies the Minett region, the land of red earth (Terre Rouge), named after the ore-bearing rock in the soil that also colours it red. In the future, a continuous, fully signposted cycling route will run through the entire region: the «Minett Cycle». After 2023, a total of 150 kilometres (divided into three loops) of cycling infrastructure will invite discovery. Until then, you can already cycle sections of the future «Minett Cycle» and discover the unique Minett region along the way. On this section, the path between Sanem and Bettembourg in the southern region runs right through the heart of the region; north past Esch-sur-Alzette, Lallange and Schifflange, then on to Bettembourg. The route passes several important sites of the historical steel industry. For example, it goes past the old industrial wasteland of the former "Metzeschmelz" with its "Cueva 2022" exhibition in Schifflange.

The first part (approx. 1.5 km) of this route leads through a small forest to the national cycle path PC6 Piste cyclable des Trois Cantons, which joins the PC9 Piste cyclable du Faubourg Minier in Sanem. From here, follow this cycle path for a bit until the hiking path turns towards Schouweiler station. From here, the route follows the railway tracks to their end at Dippach-Gare station. Along the way, the hiker is presented with a rural area with fields, meadows, and, in the distance, the large apple plantation of Pretemerhaff.

The Auto-Pédestre Bascharage starts in the town of the same name and initially leads away from the hustle and bustle. What you wouldn’t expect here: with a view of the industrial zone, you walk over a dam through sheep! Then the path continues into the forests around Bascharage and back to the starting point. A leisurely walk, but demanding due to its length.
